ERP Italia Sevizi recently took part in the JRC/HaDEA Technical Workshop “Leveraging Raw Materials to Strengthen EU Competitiveness: from Research to Innovation”, held on 23–24 September 2025 in Brussels at the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).

The workshop, organised by the European Commission and the Joint Research Centre, brought together policymakers, academia, industry representatives, and EU-funded projects. Its main goal was to strengthen the link between research and innovation and to channel knowledge into the Raw Materials Information System (RMIS) – the EU’s reference platform on metals and minerals.

Over two days, participants discussed some of the most pressing topics for Europe’s future competitiveness, including:

• the evolving EU policy landscape on critical and advanced raw materials;
• strategies to boost industrial competitiveness;
• resilient and circular value chains in vehicles and mobility;
• advances and substitution strategies in permanent magnets and advanced materials for electronics, energy, and mobility;
• the importance of education and skills to drive innovation and sustainability.
  
  During the poster sessions, AutoMat attracted strong interest thanks to its contribution to building resilient and circular European value chains. The project was represented by ERP, which actively engaged in discussions with institutional and industrial stakeholders to share AutoMat’s approach and expected impact.
  
  More than a technical workshop, the event served as a lively forum where ideas, projects, and visions for Europe’s raw materials sector converged. AutoMat’s participation highlighted its relevance in advancing the EU agenda on competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability – a concrete step towards more resilient and circular European industries.
